“The other side of that coin is that if it’s someone else that had a bad experience, then you’ve got to realize that you and I weren’t there. We don’t really know the actual circumstances around any situation because there are always two sides to every story, and you’re making important, life-changing calculations for your own life and career based on the single side of someone else’s story. And for every bad experience you’ve heard about, I can name ten drivers who love that carrier and brag about them all the time. If you have a bad experience with a Walmart employee we don’t generally boycott Walmart for the rest of our lives. And likewise, a lousy dispatcher from Houston or wherever isn’t going to be in (DRIVER’S AREA). In fact, they probably won’t be tolerated at that carrier for long at all if they’re making their drivers quit, or asking them to do something illegal…

“There are certain carriers who are willing to give first time drivers a seat, and problem drivers a second chance. And fortunately that’s the case, otherwise there would be no place for new drivers to cut their teeth and gain the experience they need to progress in their career. And there aren’t very many drivers out there who have a perfectly clean driving record with no dings whatsoever for as long as they’ve been in a truck.
“At the end of the day what I’m proposing is just a temporary job; not a marriage. This is a strong and reputable carrier with really nice late model trucks and they boast a pretty high retention rate. JOB DETAILS
This is an OTR route delivering dry van freight within all 48 states with the majority of the freight going East of I-35. There will be no forced dispatch into NYC or it’s 5 boroughs. It’ll be 50%-60% D&H, 100% no touch freight. You’ll be running an average of 2,200+ miles per week, average length of haul being over 600 miles.
You’ll be out for 12 days and home for 2 full days every other weekend.
Compensation will be mileage based. Your CPM rate will depend on your verifiable experience and range from $0.49-$0.64 cpm. In addition to that there’s a possible $0.03 cpm mileage bonus based on safety, mileage and productivity. You’ll be eligible for that starting the 1st of the month following your hire date. Detention pay will be $12.50/hr after the 2nd hour and Layover/Breakdown pay will $100 per day. Everything considered your average pay will be $1,078-$1,408 per week.

The US Xpress fleet of Internationals, Freightliners and Kenworths averages just 2 years old and their Road Ready Promise consists of a 6-point seat checklist, weekly truck inspection, and courtesy shift cleaning to keep you running right. Every truck is equipped with 1250 watt inverters. Cameras are not driver facing. They will record the sound (no video) inside of the cab if a triggered event takes place that will cause the outside cam to start recording (hard braking, swerving, collisions, lane departures, etc). All the trucks are automatics, so they will take a driver with an auto restriction. Top Speed is 68 mph.
Pets and riders are allowed as long as it’s not a local route. Riders must be at least 10 years of age (If under 18, must have legal custody of child), cannot possess a valid CDL license and there will be a $27.00 per month fee for insurance. You’re allowed 1 rider at a time. Teams are not allowed to have riders. Pets are limited to 1 dog and 1 cat per truck, must not exceed 80lbs. Cats do not have to be declawed IF they have cat caps on and aggressive dog breeds are prohibited. There will be a $500.00 Non-Refundable maintenance fee and a $10.00/week charge which will be deducted from your paycheck, $50 a week for 10 weeks.
