QUALIFICATIONS

The following table is general carrier info. Pay attention to the qualifications listed in red at the top of the job info page for that job’s specific qualifications/requirements

Pre-Qualifications
Minimum Age At least 21 years of age
Minimum Experience (tractor Trailer/OTR) 12+ Months of Verifiable Class-A Tractor-Trailer Experience

Applicants with more than 12 months of verifiable experience within the last three years qualify as a first-seat driver

A standard NFI road test is required for all applicants

***Must have valid CDL in current state of residence.
*** Gaps exceeding 90 days may be acceptable with safety management review and approval. ***  Must be T/T AND 48′ or 53′. Similar experience to the position the Driver is applying for will also be considered.
*** Military driving will not count towards experience
Moving Violations (max in 3 year period) No more than 2 in the past 3 years
DOT Recordable Accidents No more than 2 in the past 3 years

No rollovers or ran off the roadway accidents
Incidents (max in 3 year period) No more than 3 in the past 3 years
Ticket / Accident / Incident Combo No more than 3 in the past 3 years
Maximum Major Moving Violation (in the last 3 years) No more than 1 in the past 3 years
Major Moving Violations- that are automatic DQ’s No careless or reckless in the past 5 years

Applicants with 2 or more DUI’s, DWI’s, Reckless and or Careless driving charges or any combination of such, must have both charges in excess of 10 years from date of application and show no other patterns of habitual behavior involving alcohol or drug related offenses.
Max. Number of Jobs- in the last 3 years No more than 8 jobs in the past 3 years  (layoffs won’t count towards job count) 1 of which must be
for a period of 6 months or longer

Orientations, (where the Driver decided not to hire on) do not count towards the Driver’s job count in the past 3 years
Policy Against Unemployment- even if it is accounted for All periods must be verified
Terminated Applicants No terminations for accidents ever

Other safety related terminations are case by case
Felony Convictions – How old must they be?
Based off the conviction date? What are the “silver bullets”?
Any offenses not disclosed by the applicant will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by NFI Security, NFI Safety, or an authorized NFI Security designee.
Misdemeanors- How old must they be?

DUI/DWI- What is the max number and what
time frames do they need to fall outside of?
Must be outside of 5 years
