NEXT, GO OVER EQUIPMENT INFO
EQUIPMENT INFO
“When it comes to the fleet and daily operations, Day & Ross handles a mix of Dry Van, Reefer, and Flatbed freight, and the specific equipment you’ll be pulling will vary based on the account you’re assigned to—ranging from 53-foot trailers to 28-foot liftgates. The tractors themselves are reliable, 2017 models or newer, and feature both automatic and manual transmissions. The trucks are set to 65 mph on the pedal and 68 mph on cruise. Whether your truck is permanently assigned to you or if you can take it home for your time off will depend entirely on your specific account; for home time, we establish approved parking locations before you’re hired, though some accounts require the truck to be parked on-site at the customer.
For safety and peace of mind on the road, the trucks are equipped with both forward-facing and driver-facing cameras, and you’ll manage your routing through an in-cab PeopleNet unit. In terms of comfort, the trucks feature 1800-watt inverters, and some units come with APUs. From an operational standpoint, you will have the full support of a 24-hour dispatch team. You’ll just need to follow the official Day & Ross routing guidelines, and we can discuss whether optional per diem is available once we look at your specific account.
If you’re looking to bring company along, please note that passenger and pet policies vary by account and aren’t universally allowed. Any passengers must be pre-approved by the operations manager before they can step foot in the truck. For pets, there is a 90-pound weight limit—either for one pet or two combined—along with a completed pet policy form and a $300 deposit, which is conveniently deducted at $100 per pay period.”

OREINTATION INFO
“Now, when it comes to getting started, the orientation process is actually very convenient because it’s completely virtual. You can start and finish it on whatever day works best for you, and it simply takes as long as you need to complete the online modules. The best part is that it’s a paid orientation, so you’ll receive a $250 flat rate for completing it. Once that’s wrapped up, the carrier will arrange and pay for your travel so you can complete your road test and pick up your equipment. That will take place in York, Pennsylvania, the carrier will completely cover your lodging, primarily at the Wyndham hotel, though you will need to cover your own meals while you’re there.”
