Application Process

Step 1 – FILL OUT THE INTELLIAPP WITH YOUR DRIVER OVER THE PHONE USING THE FOLLOWING LINK, AND THEN MOVE TO SETTING FOLLOW-UP EXPECTATIONS:

CFI Application requires:

  • 10 years of employment history (full 10 year history whether it’s work, school or unemployment)
  • Home address history for the past 3 years
  • Current driver license number and driver license history for the past 3 years
  • History of traffic accidents, violations and/or convictions from the last 5 years (including DUI or reckless driving conviction and license suspension)
  • Any military history
  • Emergency contact info (name, address, phone#, relationship)

MAKE SURE TO:

  • Inform the driver that you or a member of the Admin Team may reach out to them to gather additional information as needed, so it’s important that they save our number and be sure to answer their phone when we call.
  • Make note of the intelliapp confirmation number when you submit your app so you can add it to the Driver Management notes.
  • Verify that the name on the application matches how it appears on the CDL.
WHAT IF MY DRIVER WANTS TO DO THE APPLICATION THEMSELVES?

“I have to tell you that the fastest, easiest and best way to get you this job is for me to go ahead and get all the information myself right now so that we can get a complete application packet submitted immediately. This is a competitive position and there are other drivers actively applying, so the sooner we can get it done the better”.

“If you insist on doing the application yourself then I can send you my intelliapp link and I’ll need you to fill that out as completely as you can. The more info you provide up front the faster we can get your application process moving along. 

“We’ll definitely need all the info for all your CDL driving jobs including the names and phone numbers of companies, miles and areas driven, types of trucks and trailers, and trailer length for each job.

“CFI requires:

SETTING FOLLOW-UP EXPECTATIONS

“In addition to your completed application, we’re also going to need a copy of the front and back of your CDL and medical card. The carrier prefers us to include them as part of your application packet in order to help speed up the process. You can send those to my email, ______.

PROVIDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS FOR DOCUMENTS

“Once the application submission is received, a rep at CFI will reach out to you through Driver Pulse & will introduce themselves and explain how to reach them. They will then request you sign the releases, give signatures for the conditional offer, upload your CDL (the front and back) , the current medical card, and the physical that matches that medical card as well as visit the Clearing House website to give consent. You’ll need to get everything completed, signed and submitted before anything else can proceed. Once all signatures and consents are received they’ll run reports and do employment verifications. If all comes back good to go you’ll be scheduled for orientation.”

“Sound good? Ok, so I’ll let you go for now but be sure to save my number so that when I call you back tomorrow with updates or to get more information then you’ll know it’s me and be sure to answer the phone. I’ll keep in touch with you throughout this process to make sure everything happens quickly and smoothly, as well as to answer any additional questions you may have. 

“Have a great day, (driver name), and I’ll talk to you again tomorrow/next week.”

Step 2 – Enter your driver into DRIVER MANAGEMENT, and add the following information in the “Notes” section:

  • Position Driver wants
  • Does the Driver smoke or vape?
  • Driver’s gender
  • Date the Driver wants to attend Orientation
  • Copy Of Driver’s license (Back & Front)
  • Copy of Driver’s Long Form Physical
  • Copy of the current Medical Card

Follow Up –

  • Kena at CFI will reach out to the Driver through Driver Pulse & will introduce herself and explain how to reach her.
  • She will then request that the driver upload their CDL (the front and back) the current medical card, and the physical that matches that medical card. The physical is always 4-5 pages. Some states have an extra page. Kena will send a message that she needs signatures for the following documents; the Conditional Offer and the Job Description. She will also give them the website for the Clearing House to put in their consent. She will then send the requests to their email also.
  • If the releases are not not already signed, she request signatures on the releases, job description, and conditional offer, as well as asking them to go to the Clearing House website for consent. If she adds more jobs after conducting the interview, she will also need those signed, and she will ask them to do that while on the phone.
  • If the driver is getting everything requested submitted, signed, and completed, Kena can easily get them into a drug screen/physical and then scheduled for orientation. CFI has this new process in place, and if it is not followed in order, the driver cannot complete the onboarding process to come to work for CFI.
  • Driver Updates will be sent out every Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • If your Driver Needs to reach Kena please let a member of the Admin team know

My Driver Is Approved… Now What???

  • Kena will reach out to your driver, once approved, to schedule orientation and set up travel/hotel.
